When I began this photo-essay, it was intended to be about how Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence but, every story tells itself, and this evolved into a much larger story.

In 1765, the British Parliament imposed The Stamp Act on the unruly colonies. That triggered a series of events that led to the colonies declaring independence from Great Britain on July 4, 1776.
